How to Rank for Competitive Terms Fast with a Facebook Page
Google’s algorithm is a link-based algorithm. Full stop. It always has been and it likely always will be.
In recent years niche websites have been hammered in Google’s updates to the algorithm as the search engine has been favoring sites with high domain authority.
Search for anything today and you’ll see pages like Reddit and Quora at the top of the results. There’s a lot of theories as to why this, but the simple answer is that these websites have some of the most robust backlink profiles on the internet.
This is where parasite SEO comes into play — leveraging another website’s backlink profile to get to the top of Google faster than normal. You’re being a “parasite” of their domain authority.
In recent weeks I have seen a number of Facebook pages ranking for highly searched terms. As long as the algorithm is the way that it is, it’s imperative that we leverage it to our advantage.
The first step is creating a Facebook page for your business. I want you to keyword stuff this page as much as you can with making it still readable to the end user. Make the title of the page your keyword, make posts about your topic, and fill out as much information as you can including the keyword.
Facebook seems to be creating the URL structure based on the page title, so if the title of the page is your keyword, it should auto-populate the URL with the keyword.
One of the best examples I have seen of this being done well: https://www.facebook.com/share/HLS3AGNT91Cfmb84/?mibextid=LQQJ4d
You’ll see how Kayla cleverly included her keyword in her title and uses it often in her posts. I highly recommend that you model your page after hers. Kayla’s page ranks high for “Denver commercial real estate broker”. You can imagine how lucrative a keyword like that can be. In my experience, you don’t need as many posts as she does. She has a lot on there — create 3 to 5 really good ones and your page should perform well.
All you need from there is just people interacting with your profile. Text a few friends and get likes and reviews on your page. 10 reviews should be the goal.
Once the page is live, you need to get this indexed and ranking. The best way to accomplish both of these tasks at the same time is to build links directly to the page.
Because Facebook’s domain authority is virtually indestructible, you can build any link at the page to get it indexed and power the page up. You don’t have to worry if the links you are sending are spammy or not. PBNs, link farms, and blog comments all work just fine.
One tier 2 source I’ve been testing is tier2links.com
They’ll build dozens of do-follow tier 2 links directly at the Facebook page. This influx of links will help in getting your page indexed / ranking well.
I think every small business owner should be doing this. Worst case scenario you spend $20 on tier 2 links to a Facebook page that it took 5 minutes to create. The best-case scenario is that you’re able to crack the top 10 for a term it normally would have taken you years and thousands of dollars to tackle. Worth the shot in my opinion.
Things get really fun when your main website and your Facebook page are ranking in the top 10 at the same time. Crowding the search results with your business is not a surefire way to gain serious amounts of trust with your customers.
